A snow day

Work or Play - it looks refreshing and at times challenging. And it always makes a good picture!

WATER WATER

Where would we be without it? A life force.

Fall in upstate new york

What a gift in October 2020 - to escape from New York City to Kingston NY for a few days with friends. A color kaleidoscope and a feast for my photographic eye. The open space and fresh air, a treat in itself after being hemmed in during COVID.

PEOPLE IN CENTRAL PARK

Central Park New York is a photographer’s delight! I feel privileged to come across SO many people who seem to love having their photographs taken. Here’s a few from 2019

The Extraordinary Reflective Qualities

For a week in the Summer of 2019, I traveled with my grandson from Denver to Indianapolis.  A fascinating and rich experience in so many ways.  One of our stops was in the Indianapolis Museum of Art.  On a grand scale, I was intrigued and drawn to Tara Donovan’s art piece MYLAR.  Every curve I turned, the natural light captured her AWESOME beauty.  On an individual level, her beauty was so enriched with color, I was mesmerized for hours - each round structure shed her own reflective quality of brilliance. Speaks loudly.  Zoom in to see!

2017 NYC Easter Sunday Bonnet Parade

It NEVER fails to impress me - extraordinary talent, happy moments on 5th Avenue and a perfectly sunny day - NYC’s Easter Bonnet Parade. My favorite parade of all time.

Women 60+

I have come across some incredibly inspiring women throughout my life.  I am now sixty.  I want to celebrate my connection women aged between 60 and 115.  It is my on-going project, one that I started because I want to connect with the world as an older woman, I want to be visible, I want to explore the idea of aging, and I want to find my own way in celebrating this transition.  As this project is underway, I can see changes that are emerging within me - I want to share some of my photographs of the women who have bravely shared their life experiences and their essence with me.  A captured moment in each person’s life.

Beauty in Reflection

Whether on water or glass, somehow there is beauty in reflection!

A walk in Central Park

I was in Central Park recently doing a photoshoot of a young woman when we spotted this grey heron catching her meal! Patience all round!

As The Snow Fell in Central Park

In Central Park New York and after my clients canceled on a freezing day I decided to take a walk! This (and more) is what I saw. The Park was not busy when I ventured out. Some 2 hours later as I headed for home out came the sleds, the skis, and snowboards. I had a sense that there was more confidence in the air as people braved the elements! It was beautiful albeit challenging at times. Armed with a camera and phone, I photographed till it was time to return to the warmth and safety of my apartment. Fun indeed!

“Leaf Peeping” in New Hampshire

In the Fall of October 2017 we drove through New Hampshire, stayed at The Lake House, Lake Winnisquam (pictured below). I wanted to see the Fall colors on a lake - this was a birthday gift from my husband. I was not disappointed - the colors and community were stunning. So many images to chose from - here a very small selection!
